The Guide to Mainstreaming a Gender Perspective in the Implementation of the Regional Agreement on Access to Information, Public Participation and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters in Latin America and the Caribbean aims to provide information, guidance and measures for integrating this perspective into the implementation of the Agreement, at local, national and regional levels, with a view to promoting the full exercise of women’s rights, in all their diversity, to information, public participation and justice in environmental matters, as well as in environmental protection work in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The aim of the session is to reflect on how to advance the implementation of the Escazú Agreement from a gender perspective, with a view to reducing the specific barriers faced by women in exercising their rights of access and in defending the environment. On this occasion, the Secretariat will present the Guide to Mainstreaming a Gender Perspective in the Implementation of the Escazú Agreement, which contains various measures that Parties can adopt for this purpose.
